BIOPIC on Funmilayo Ransome Kuti (FRK) started screening at Silverbird Galleria till Thursday 15th of September—Bolanle Austen-Peters
Bolanle Austen-Peters, fondly called BAP, is a lawyer, a multiple award winning movie director/producer, theater director/producer and cultural entrepreneur. She is the founder and artistic director of BAP Productions and the arts and culture center Terra Kulture in Lagos.
BAP has taken her genius in filmmaking to the next level. The biopic on Funmilayo Ranson-Kuti is indeed a major quantum leap in Nollywood; such noble adventure is a classic way of preserving history in a nation that has taken History out of both Primary and Secondary schools. Starring Kehinde Bankole, Joke Silva, Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, and Adebayo Salami.
I doubt if there is any other family in Nigeria that has contributed as much as Ransome-Kutis’ family has done to the socio-political advancement of Nigeria. The biopic is about the matriarch of the family, she’s the mother of arguably greatest and most influential African musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Chief Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, MON , was a Nigerian educator, political campaigner, suffragist, and women’s rights activist.
BAP took to her social media to express her profound joy, ‘I am delighted to announce that the incredible BIOPIC on Funmilayo Ransome Kuti (FRK) started screening at Silverbird Galleria till Thursday 15th of September.’
