Bishops and Celibacy

Bishops and Celibacy

So, listen up folks, apparently being a bishop in the Christian faith means you gotta be a one-woman kind of guy. But let’s be real, how can you stay committed to just one person without being tempted by the freedom of the single life? That’s why Catholic bishops choose to remain celibate, just like the OG Paul of Tarsus recommended. And no, it’s not just about avoiding the horizontal mambo, it’s about having the freedom to be your true, adult self without any pesky vows getting in the way.

Being a bishop is no joke, it’s like being a spy or an undercover agent, with the wisdom and intelligence of a sneaky snake. You gotta be slick to navigate through all the wolves out there while keeping the sheep safe and sound. So, if you’re not cut out for the job, you better stick to your moral squabbles and leave the bishopric to the pros. ‘Cause taking a vow to never lust after another woman, not even in your heart, and to remain faithful to one lady till death do you part, ain’t no walk in the park, my friends.
